Putting down roots
We’re currently working on a home renovation in Sydney’s Inner West for a young couple. The house is located in a heritage area, so we’re preserving its original charm while adding a modern extension to the rear. This new space will give the couple a comfortable, open-plan living area that’s perfect for their lifestyle.
Located in a heritage conservation area…
We’ve made sure the modern extension stands out from the heritage part of the home, following the principles of the Burra Charter. This clear distinction keeps the home’s history intact while giving the couple a bright, contemporary space to enjoy.
Plans were made to the rear
The highlight of the design is how the new living area connects to the garden. Large sliding doors and cozy window seats help blend the indoor and outdoor spaces. This is especially important to one of the clients, who loves to garden and wants to feel connected to the outside, even when indoors.
Stay tuned for more updates
This project shows how heritage homes can be updated with modern touches while keeping their original character, giving the owners the best of both worlds. If you have a project like this feel free to get in touch.
